ASTRO16 LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates the ASTRO mobile application and astro16.com (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), and authentication identifiers from Apple, Google or Facebook if you sign in via those providers.
- Birth data: date, time and place of birth, and gender, used solely to compute your natal chart, transits, forecasts and compatibility.
- Usage data: in-app actions, screens viewed, chat messages you send to the AI astrologer, and device/diagnostic identifiers used for analytics and crash reporting.
- Payment data: billing is processed by App Store, Google Play or Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the Service: generate your natal chart, daily/weekly forecasts, AI chat answers, compatibility analyses, astrostyle and habit recommendations.
- To operate accounts, subscriptions, and customer support.
- To improve the Service via aggregated, de-identified analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.
3. AI Processing
To answer chat questions and personalise content, your chart and message text are sent to large-language-model providers (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic) under contractual data-processing terms. These providers act as our processors and do not use your data to train their models.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: (a) service providers who host, secure or analyse the Service on our behalf; (b) authorities if required by law; (c) successors in a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.
5. Data Retention
We keep account and birth data while your account is active and for a limited period after deletion to satisfy legal, accounting and security obligations. You may request deletion at any time.
6. Your Rights
- Access, correct or delete your personal data.
- Export a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the EEA / UK (GDPR) and other jurisdictions may have additional rights. To exercise any right, email info@astro16.com.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. International Transfers
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our processors operate. We rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
9. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest where appropriate, hashed credentials, access controls and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure; please use a unique strong password.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this Policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
